Earth Hour

Today is earth hour. People are encourage to switch off their lights for one hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Though some people may think what can switching off lights for one hour do to save the earth. However, the idea behind earth hour is to remind people to turn off electrical items when they are not in used.

Beside electricity, we should also save on other resources as well for the sake of our future generation.

So..PLEASE SUPPORT EARTH HOUR!..   

Paradise goes brankrupt

The financial crisis has really hit hard on the world economy this time. Besides several big corporations around having financial difficulties and even some filed for brankruptcy, there are even government of country such as Iceland that goes brankrupt. Today seen in the Yahoo News that Seychelles, an famous tourism paradise goes brankrupt also.....

Guess everyone nowadays have to plan their expenditure very carefully. Try not to spend on unnecessary items and save for the future....

Donation

Yesterday noon time, two ladies walk into my office and introduce themselves as representatives from a nonprofit organization and their intentions to create awareness among the public on some issues.
One of the lady shows some information on the organization to me. After that she took a direct debit form to me and ask me to sign up donation to the organization and there is a minimum amount to be donated. She also mention that I can terminate my donation after certain time if I do not wish continue it (Hmm...).  However, I said I would consider first on the donation.

After that, I did a check up on the organization she mention in the internet and found some information on the organization. However, I still decided not to donate to the organization first as I have some doubt on how those organization runs especially how our donation is going to be used and will our donation reach those who are really in need.

Blood Donation Activity - 29.03.2009

Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (Malaysia) Miri Liaison will be organizing blood donation on 29th March 2009. The following is the detail of the activity:

Date: 29/3/2009
Time: 10am-1pm
Location: Tzu Chi Miri Liaison office (located at Centrepoint, aboe One Stop Store)

The blood donation activity is open to the public.

Besides blood donation, there will several activities such as chinese-knot teaching, recycle paper making and etc.
